In these days of cable TV, tivo, video games, and an emphasis on the individual’s privacy, we can begin to feel quite alone and alienated from those around us. As a church, Messiah works to reverse that trend, bringing people and families together for activities that encourage caring relationships that grow stronger as time goes by.
Food is always a good thing to gather round. So fellowship meals occur with regularity here…
Dinner Groups - are formed twice a year for those who want to get to know others through dining at each others homes. Eight to ten people (couples and singles) make up their own schedule and menus–which range from take-out Chinese to cook outs, to formal dinner parties!
Lenten and Advent Meals - these are “come if you can” meals of soup and bread that precede our seasonal evening worship services. They are relaxed moments for either catching up, or getting to know one another
Special Programs - like the Calumet Messiah Camp Out, Earth Day Celebration, Pancake Dinner, Christmas Dinner and Charity Auction, occur on a schedule, or at the drop of a hat! One year we had a Memorial Day picnic! Sign up for email announcements of special programs.
